Mount Tamborine

Mount Tamborine

Got onto a small car ride towards Mount Tamborine, a mountain located about 80 km from Brisbane. It’s more of a big hill than a mountain with a steep ascent which proved quite enough for our little small car. The peak of this big hill is flat and surprisingly large, enough to accommodate a population of 5000 inhabitants and several schools. The place is quite touristy, especially the main street which is lined with shops and art galleries. The main tourist activity here – hiking in the rainforest.

After a hike, it’s time for lunch. In Australia, barbecue or rather ‘Barbie’ is a local thing to do. Just because we are not at home, it doesn’t mean that we can not enjoy it. Our portable barbie pit served us simple but quite filling lunch!

It was a green and pleasant day, away from the city… what a bliss!
