I recently bought a GoPro Hero 2 video camera ($466 at Singapore airport). For what purpose? Mainly to film what I do when I travel abroad (diving, hiking). The advantage of this camera is that it shoots in HD, is water resistant to 60 meters deep, has many mount to fix it everywhere (on the head, a helmet, a wrist …) and is relatively small. Another feature that I had not paid much attention at the beginning is the possibility of do time lapse (taking a picture every X seconds), the GoPro can take a photo every 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 30, 60 seconds. Here is my first real time lapse done with the GoPro Hero 2 of the famous Marina Bay Sands in Singapore:
