It’s the beginning of the my great travel adventure around Australia. Early departure from Brisbane bus terminal on a Greyhound bus to Rainbow Beach (access point to Fraser Island). Australia is such a huge country that the bus was stopping in most touristic areas for loading and unloading backpackers. Thus – the trip took all day. I tried to writing a travel diary, but it is definitely not easy at all when it’s for the first time and the beginning of travel. Rainbow Beach is a small town beside the sea where the main business appears to be tourism, given the number of backpackers chilling around. The landscape is beautiful (I’ll repeat that pretty often I believe), especially the forest trail that heads south to Noosa (which can can be done in a couples of days).

After I arrived at Dingo’s – The Backpacker partner of Peter Pan, I joined the group of people present for a long briefing on the do’s and don’t on Fraser Island (including what to do when you face a wild dingo). After that we ordered all the alcohol needed for this 3 day trip. My group consists of four Irish, one Israeli and two Dutch. In the other 4 × 4, a group of nice British girls, Germans and one French.
First evening of the trip – not much to do, the backpackers’ bar and pool are empty. I tried to write a bit in my travel diary before going to bed early, but nothing much to say after only a day of bus ride.
